Westcotes Beat Weekly Update
Here is a overview of activity from your Westcotes Beat team over the past week:
Eviction Officers attended an address on the beat to prevent a breach of the peace during a pre-arranged lawful eviction carried out by a landlord. Our role in these circumstances is not to enforce the eviction itself, but to ensure there is no disorder, intimidation or escalation that could place anyone at risk. Police presence helps keep the situation calm, provides reassurance to all parties, and ensures the process is conducted safely and lawfully.
Night-Time Economy (NTE) Deployment PCs have been deployed on late shifts as part of ongoing Night-Time Economy (NTE) operations. The NTE refers to policing activity focused on areas with pubs, bars, clubs and licensed venues during peak evening and early morning hours. These patrols are intelligence-led and aimed at: Preventing alcohol-related violence and disorder Identifying and safeguarding vulnerable individuals Disrupting drug-related activity Providing high-visibility reassurance patrols Proactive NTE policing plays a key role in reducing demand, preventing serious assaults and maintaining a safe environment for those enjoying a night out in the city.
Ramadan Reassurance Patrols With Ramadan currently being observed, officers have carried out additional patrols at local mosques and community centres, particularly during evening prayer times. These patrols are focused on reassurance, visibility and engagements. We recognise the importance of this period for our Muslim communities and remain committed to ensuring everyone can attend prayers and events safely.
Arrests Two individuals were arrested on the beat this week in relation to separate matters.
We continue to act on community intelligence and concerns raised by residents. If you have information about crime, anti-social behaviour or safeguarding concerns, please report via 101, online reporting, or speak to us when you see us on patrol.
Your information helps shape our patrol plans and priorities.
